I have this awful habit of rejecting sleep when I’ve had a long rotten day, on days when that is exactly what my mind and body need. Sleep feels like surrender in dark times as this, and I do not like to lose. My eyes are heavy boulders now, my back is crooked and aches for bed. I come for you now bed, but sleep will need to claim me. I will not approach it willingly. The book I am reading is waiting on my pillow after all.
