Random STRAMA takeaways

http://facchan.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html

STRAMA fight mode looks like this, only with a laptop and several forms of junk food.

1. Coffee doesn’t keep you up. Panic does. Coffee only makes you pee a lot.

2. Cereal isn’t as fun to munch when it is old and less crunchy.

3. A half eaten bag of Clover chips can only do so much.

4. If I keep this up, I will most likely gain 5 pounds around my hips and 5 pound on each eye bag. Good times, good times.

*Thank you for the apt animation. It comprehensively captured the look and feeling.

Cat in a Box

Watch the videos below if you:

1. Love cats

2. Love tubby cats

3. Want to know the lengths tubby cats would got to fit inside a box

4. Just really need a dose of free happiness in your life as Sunday night dies into another busy Monday. I know I do 🙂

If you said yes to any of the above, I am pleased to introduce to you, Maru the cat and her boxes.

Heartfelt credits go to the owner of the cat and the videos.

Drama Review

Nick and Jess’s First Kiss Went a Little Like This

There are a lot of times you would wish you didn’t answer the itch to know the spoilers. Like in every Twilight movie (because you know how it will all end anyway, you fan girl) and in watching every movie preview that when pieced together basically already spills the entire story (most recent, annoying case in point: Nicholas Sparks’ Safe Haven).

Like in the kiss presented above between zombie-novel writer, bartender and underachiever extraordinaire Nick Miller and short-in-stature-but-not-in-spunk Jessica Day. Despite the subtle flirtations and that easy chemistry planted so wisely into the series as early as the New Girl pilot, I really did not see this coming.

Thank you Liz Meriwether. And thank YOU, Nick Miller. Where have you been all my life?

Review: Hansel and Gretel Go Witch Hunting

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters

Hansel and Gretel grew up nice and strapped in leather.

I needed a quick recap on the Hansel and Gretel story as the movie rolled in. All I remembered was the gingerbread house and the story from there, forgetting the first parts that explain why the red-cheeked little children were in that shady part of the woods in the first place. Apparently, there is no need for the recollection, as the Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters movie writes its own back story for the requisite twist.

I came into the theater as a Jeremy Renner fan with an anxious heart, not wanting to see him in a movie that gave me that distinct feeling of corniness. No hurt locker and no Hawk Eye deserves that burden in my eyes. As the 88 minutes went by, my movie critic instincts proved right on, but it was good 88 minutes of Renner nonetheless. I explain:

Macau Baby! To-do Lists in Asia’s Little Vegas

YAY LIBRARY!!!!!!

Macau Baby!!!!

This was the battlecry for my sister and I since the day it was confirmed that we were jetting off to 4 days of Macau bliss. Not being the most well-worn traveler, having gone only to Hong Kong twice due to restraints on time, money and fun low-to-mid-maintenance companions, I was ready to fly screw all else to visit another gem of the (legitimate) China border.

It was the middle of May 2012. The sun was baking in the tropics while Macau is promising a more tolerant weather, cobbled post-colonial streets, lights and the majestic view of Las Vegas-class hotels and casinos, and the sweet sweet taste of a freshly baked egg tart. So, where to begin?

Important things to know when going to Macau

Realization for the day:

Our youngest sister is like the neighbor’s mother cat who has had too many kittens–she no longer wants love. Only food.
