Common Cold Remedy: Steamed Asian Pears with Honey

Finally succumbed to the cold virus, ironically after my two days of R&R. My body did not want to go to work, hehe. Looked this up in the Internet, asking help from the Korean side of the world, and found this apparently age-old traditional recipe for a cough/cold/flu cure.

Steamed Asian Pear with Honey

  1. 1. Halve and core the Asian pear. Fill the seed hole and coat the cut sides generously with honey and fill the seed hole. Steam for about 15 minutes in a steamer or in a couple inches of water. After it has cooled, eat with a spoon.
  2. 2. Cut the pear into pieces and drizzle generously with honey. Steam in a poaching cup for about ten minutes and then eat.

Since I am lazy, I opted for option 2, the easier route. I added a few slivers of ginger too, as another recipe suggested. Letting them cool now. Looking forward to my yummy cure <33
