It was a good time to suddenly remember to check in on my favorite Japanese actor. Oguri Shun (of Hana Yori Dango, Crows Zero fame among many many others) is gracing the big screen with yet another manga adaptation. With Rurouni Kenshin‘s live action debut a stellar success with 2 consecutive sequels at its heels, Shun must be clamoring to do the same with his portrayal of world class thief, Lupin III.
Surely I was not the only one who caught the slick, vintage cartoon version of this manga in its Philippine run. How many times did we all want to hit Lupin at the head for again falling for the duplicitous caresses of the sexy Fujiko? Actress Kuroki Meisa takes the rein in this role. And though she is hardly as voluptuous as the cartoon (a mean feat for anyone, I admit), she has solid chemistry with Shun (I refer you to Crows Zero, and to several rumors of their drinking sessions, but I digress). Completing the set are Tamayama Tetsuji as Jigen, Ayano Go as Goemon, and Asano Tadanobu as Zenigata.
