Finally succumbed to the cold virus, ironically after my two days of R&R. My body did not want to go to work, hehe. Looked this up in the Internet, asking help from the Korean side of the world, and found this apparently age-old traditional recipe for a cough/cold/flu cure.
Steamed Asian Pear with Honey
- 1. Halve and core the Asian pear. Fill the seed hole and coat the cut sides generously with honey and fill the seed hole. Steam for about 15 minutes in a steamer or in a couple inches of water. After it has cooled, eat with a spoon.
- 2. Cut the pear into pieces and drizzle generously with honey. Steam in a poaching cup for about ten minutes and then eat.
Since I am lazy, I opted for option 2, the easier route. I added a few slivers of ginger too, as another recipe suggested. Letting them cool now. Looking forward to my yummy cure <33
